Standards of Publication
When evaluating submissions, the Editorial Board and professional referees refer to the following criteria:
While authors from any academic institution located anywhere in the world may submit papers, The Pittsburgh Undergraduate Review is an English-language journal and only publishes English-language submissions.
Submitting authors should also refer to the What Does PUR Publish? page.
- Scholarly Form: The paper must be well written and conform to the writing conventions of the field in which it is written. While it should be obvious, grammar and spelling errors should be sparse if at all existent in your paper.
- Depth of Analysis: The paper must cover the topic it addresses comprehensively.
- Originality: The paper must contribute to the existing body of knowledge surrounding its topic. Literature reviews or rehashing of conventional viewpoints and facts do not meet this standard.
